Noise Control

Tune the volume down

Noise associated with pipes and ducts can be not only disturbing but also harmful to the health of building occupants. In some countries taking active measures to reduce the levels of nuisance noise is a legal requirement. FEF and PEF insulation materials perform a range of acoustic functions and can help to reduce noise levels within buildings.

In addition to their thermal insulating function, FEF and PEF also provide acoustic benefits - e.g. for pipe systems. The result: better living comfort or increased occupational safety.

Control the noise

Mechanical systems, including air-conditioning, cool and ventilation systems can create an ongoing noise disturbance both inside and outside a building. Commercial businesses are particularly dependent on such systems. FEF and PEF insulation materials can be used to help reduce both the transmission and emission of this nuisance noise.

Contribution to occupational safety

Industrial production and processing locations are an extreme case when it comes to noise levels and acoustic insulation systems are essential to ensure maximum thresholds for noise are not exceeded. Providing pipe systems or tanks of operating systems with acoustic insulation systemshelp to contribute towards occupational safety and reduce the risk of workplace accidents.

In addition to their thermal insulating function, FEF and PEF also provide acoustic benefits - e.g. for pipe systems. The result: better living comfort or increased occupational safety.

Acoustic decoupling of components

When one mechanical component comes into direct contact with the next, sound can be transmitted through physical vibrations that travel from surface to surface. If this physical connection is severed, the acoustic bridge between solid objects is removed. Experts refer to this as 'decoupling'. FEF and PEF materials are flexible and can function as highly effective ‘decoupling’ materials.
